? 用英语转述他人话语时有哪些规律和要求呢?是否与汉语不同?下面我们一起来分析一下。
? 首先先弄清两个概念―引语‖与―引述动词‖。 ? 我们来看一下包含直接引语的句子: ? He said, “?It?s time for lunch. ”.
上面句子中,引号内的句子叫做引语,引号外的动词(said)称引述动词。引语可以放在引述动词之前,也可以放在引述动词之后。上面我们看到的直接引语都是一般现在时的陈述句,本模块我们主要学习的也是一般现在时的陈述句的转述:变化规律如下:
1)间接引语使用that连接宾语从句,如果引语为一般陈述句,变为间接引语时一般是由that引导。如上面的句子可以变为: He said (that) it was time for lunch. Tom said (that) he liked apples. The woman said (that) Mike could swim. 2)人称要随主语做适当变化 ‘
如果直接引语中的主语为第一人称,变为间接引语时人称要随句子主语的人 称而变化。上面第二句中的I就要变成he。 3)谓语动词时态的变化
如果引述动词为一般过去时,间接引语中动词的时态一般推移到过去时间,如:
Tony said, “It is an exciting film.” 一Tony said (that)it was an exciting film. “I don?t like action films.” Lingling said. 一Lingling said (that) she didn?t? like action films. 4)变化形式: 指示代词 This--that These-those 时间状语 Now--then 地点状语 Here--there 动词 Come--go Say--tell Today--that day Tonight--that night Tomorrow—the next day StepⅤPractice grammar: (1)Complete the sentences: 1.
