whether或if连接,而是用 when where how why 等疑问词连接。 这是从句意思表达的需要。

比如―他问什么时间出发‖中的―什么时间出发‖必须用一个疑问词才能表达, 如果遇到什么时间、什么地点、什么方式、什么原因之类的疑问是, 我们就要使用相应的疑问词来连接从句。

但是同学们一定要注意在疑问词引导的宾语从句中,一定要用陈述句 语序。如:

He asks how we can help clean the school. 他问我们怎样能为清洁校园出点力。

I can‘t understand why they like watching TV so much 我不理解他们为什么如此喜欢看电视。

They haven‘t decided where they should go for the winter vacation. 他们好没有确定到什么地方去度寒假。 Do you know when we will hold the meeting? 你知道我们什么时候开会吗?

Unit 1 Remember to look out for the red light

1. The teacher asks the students in what situation they will see red light, and get as many answers as possible from the students.

2. The teacher describes one situation of seeing red light and asks the students to guess.

3. Ask the students whether they like to listen to radio programmes, and get the students to talk about their favourite radio programmes.

4. Ask the students to match the radio programmes with the words in the box in activity 1, and then check the answers with the whole class. 5. Listen again and answer the questions in activity 2.

6. Ask the students to read the 4 questions in activity 4, listen to the dialogue twice and find the answers to the questions.

7. When finished, ask them to read the dialogue and check the answers first with

their deskmates, and then with the whole class.

8. Complete the passage in activity 5, and then check their answers. 9. Ask the students to find the following phrases in unit 1. <1>. 想做某事 would like to do sth = feel like doing sth <2>. 感谢某人做某事 thank you for doing sth = thanks for doing sth 感谢某人某事 thank you for sth , thanks for sth 例句:Thank you for helping me = Thanks for helping me.

Thank you for your help = Thanks for your help

<3>. 带领某人参观某地 take/ show sb around sp 例句: Can you show/ take me around your new school?

<4>. 记得要做某事 remember to do sth (还没做) 注意:remember 后还可以带动名词做宾语: remember doing sth. 意思是―记得做过某事(已经做了)‖ 例句:‖Remember to close the door when you leave‖ said the teacher.

I remembered closing the door when I left yesterday afternoon, I don‘t know why it is open now.

同样用法的还有: forget to do sth 忘记去做某事 forget doing sth 忘记做过某事

regret to do sth 很遗憾去做某事 regret doing sth 很遗憾做过某事

<5>. 留意某事 look out for 也有―提防, 当心某事‖之意。 例句:You should look out for the pickpocket. <6>. 停止做某事 stop doing sth 比较: stop doing sth 停止手上正在做的事情。

stop to do sth 停止手上正在做的事情去做另外一件事情。 例句:The students stopped talking when the teacher came into the classroom. The students stopped to read the books when the teacher came into the classroom.

<7>. 最新消息 the latest news <8>. 讨厌,憎恨做某事 hate doing sth

课文难句剖析:

1. We decide what to listen to… and who to see. ―what to listen to‖和―who to see‖都是不定式用作decide 的宾语。 不定式可以和 what, which, who, how 等连接代词或副词一起用作宾语。 例句:He forgot which way to go.

She doesn‘t understand how to look after you well. I don‘t know what to do next.

2. And this is where we prepare the weather reports.

―where we prepare the weather reports ‖ 在此句中用作表语, 是表语从句。 10.Homework : 22 页 练习2。

Unit 2 I remember sitting close to the radio

1. Revision: Check the students‘ homework.

2. Talk about the picture in page 20 activity 1. Ask the students what they can see in the picture. Ask them to guess where it is. Do they want to work in the TV station one day? What do they need to do if they want to work in it? 3. Ask the students to read the 3 questions in activity 2, then listen to the tape while they are reading the passage, next check their answers with the whole class.

4. When finished, complete activity 3. Tell the students ―be likely to do sth ‖ means ―有可能做某事‖, likely 是 形容词 不是副词。

5. Ask the students to read the 4 questions in activity 4 first, then read the passage to get the detail information about the passage, next get some of them to answer the questions.

6. Ask the students to find the following phrases in unit 2.

<1>. 向下看着某人 look down at sb 相反词组: look up at sb look sown upon/on sb ―看不起/瞧不起 某人‖

look up to sb ―尊敬, 仰慕某人‖ look up ―(情况)好转,改善‖ look sth up ―查字典‖

<2>. 坐得近 sit close to 类似的 be close to 靠近 例句:Our school is close to the supermarket.. <3>. 亲身,亲自 in person

例句: If you do something in person , you go somewhere and do it yourself. <4>. 说要找… ask for …

<5>. 结束播放, 停止播放 close down <6>. 在…岁时 at the age of 课文难句剖析:

<1>. When I was about four or five years old, I remember sitting close to the radio in the living room, listening to my favourite radio programmes, and to the voice of my favourtite presenters.

―listening to …. presenters ‖ 是现在分词短语用作伴随状语。 而 ―to the voice… ‖是 listen 的宾语。Presenters 在这里是广播节目主持人。 例句: The teacher came into the classroom, holding a book in his hand. <2>. It seemed that they were speaking to me in person. seem 可跟 that 引导的宾语从句。 例句:It seems that it is going to rain soon. * seem like sth 好像,似乎, 看来 例句:It seems like a good idea at that time.

<3>. As I grew older… As 在此句中引导一个时间状语从句,等于when. <4>. Once a week, I played my favourite music from my father‘s computer to the listeners, talked about life at school, and then closed down and did my homework. 此句有两个以上的并列谓语,我们把它称为并列谓语句。 注意并列谓语句表示的谓语一个紧接着一个发生,并且在用的时候注意时态要一致。

例句:He stands up, puts on his clothes and leaves the room. <5>. Just tell me what you had for lunch.

―what you had ‖ 是宾语从句,用作动词tell 的宾语。 <6>.This was how my first real job in radio began. ―how my first real job in radio began ‖ 是表语从句。

7. Homework: Ask the students to think of something they love doing, and imagine they have had a job doing it. Write a passage describing an important event in the past, and some background information.

Unit 3 Language in use

1. Ask the students to read the sentences in activity 1, then divide the verbs they have learnt into 3 types:

<1>. Verbs used only Infinitive for Object: decide, plan, would like, hope, wish, promise, agree etc.

<2>. Verbs used only Gerund for Object: enjoy, finish, keep, feel like, avoid, and miss ect.

<3> Verbs used both Infinitive and Gerund for Object: 含义有所不同的:

Remember to post the letters. 记得去寄信 (还没寄) I remember posting the letters. 我记得把信寄了。(已寄) I forgot to ask him about it. 我忘了问他这事 (还没问)

I shall never forget seeing the ALPS for the first time, 我永远也忘不了第一次看 到阿尔卑斯山的感受。 (已经做了) Please try to be quiet. 请设法保持安静。

Try pressing the green button. 请按绿色按钮试试。

I like playing basketball, but I don‘t like to play basketball today. 我喜欢打篮球, 但是今天不喜欢打。 (动名词表示经常性,习惯性的动作, 而不定式则表 示具体某一次的动作)

Stop talking please! 请不要讲话。 (停止正在做的事情)

He stops to read the novel. 他停下来看小说去了。(停止正在做的事情去做另 一件事情)
