definingdesignedandhumanhealthtoavoid,establishingandthepreventobjectivesforambientairqualityenvironmentorreduceasaharmfulwhole;

assessingbasisofcommontheambientmethodsairqualityandcriteria;

inMemberStatesonthe3.

obtainingcombatinformationonambientairqualitytrendsmunityandairpollutionmeasures;

improvementsandnuisanceinordertohelpresultingandfromtomonitornationallong-termandCom-4.

ensuringmadeavailablethatsuchtotheinformationpublic;

maintainingothercases;

ForthepurposesofthisDirective:

1.

‘ambientexcludingair’whereandprovisionsworkplacesshallmeanoutdoorairinthetroposphere,concerningasdefinedhealthbyDirectiveandsafety89/654/EECatworkapply(3)access;

towhichmembersofthepublicdonothaveregular2.

‘pollutant’andshallmeananysubstancetheenvironmentlikelytohaveasharmfulpresentinambientairawhole;

effectsonhumanhealthand/or3.

‘level’airorshallthedepositionmeantheconcentrationthereofonsurfacesofapollutantinagivenintime;
