Presenting Say: Everybody likes to do many activities and dislikes to do many activities. So can you tell me your likes and dislikes? Step 2. Practicing 1. Explain to students what a happiness chart is. Ask students to look at Millie?s happiness chart in Part A. Try to find out what Millie, likes and dislikes. 2. Ask students to complete their own happiness chart in Part B. Tell them that they can add four more activities they do on a typical school day. 3. Ask students to find out the reasons why Millie likes or dislikes certain activities. Go through the table in Part A. 4. Make a conversation: (Students A:) A: Does Millie like doing morning exercises? (Student B:) B: Yes, she does. A: Why does she like doing morning exercises? B: Because she thinks it?s good for her and it helps her get ready for the day. 5. Ask students to complete the table in Part C, using the in formation from their happiness chart in Part B on page 31. Tell them they can use Millie?s sentences as models. 6. Ask students to make conversations about the reasons why they like or dislike certain activities. Step 3. Writing Ask students to read the e-mail frame. Students use the information in the table to complete the e-mail. Remind students that the frame is there for guidance only. They can adapt it to suit their own needs.
