4. Steam turbine starting

4.1. Under below situation turbine is forbidden to start. 4.1.1. Any safety deevice abnormal

4.1.2. Speed control system can‘t keep no-load running, or can‘t control rotate speed under 109-111% of rated speed.

4.1.3. Quick closing valve, control valve, open /close not flexible, jaming

4.1.4. Main oil tank oil quality didqualified, or oil system after inject oil, oil level below min position.

4.1.5. Rotate speed meter, main steam pressure gauge, main steam thermometer, vacuum meter missing or indicate abnormal.

4.1.6. Rotating part of turbine have apparently grating, or turning current substantially swing

4.1.7. Auxiliary oil pump, AC emergency oil pump, DC emergency oil pump, turning running abnormal or interlocking not working, DC power can‘t ensure DC lubricating oil pump regularly running

4.1.8. Bearing flow in oil temperature lower than 35℃or lubricating oil pressure under rated value

4.2. Prepare and operate before turbine start 4.2.1. Prepare :

4.2.1.1. Check all devices, clear sundries and barrier, keep unit and auxiliary equipment clean.

4.2.1.2. Contact instrument staff input all thermal meter and thermal power, contact electric staff check all electricity insulation qualified, input electric power. 4.2.1.3. Prepare all record, report forms and tools, instrument.

4.2.1.4. axial displacement, differential cylinder expansion , indicator at 0(Normal cold position)

4.2.1.5. All electric valve, control valve test qualify, operating flexible.

4.2.1.6. Check all pumps operation and interlock switch on bypass position 4.2.1.7. All auxiliary oil pump test run qualify, oil system oil circulate qualify, well sealed,

no leak, oil level of main oil tank normal, oil quality test qualify.

4.2.1.8. Regulating system static test qualify

4.2.1.9. All instrument, signal, thermal protector correct, name, symbol correct,

indicator light, signal lamp, switch handle, start, stop button in good condition.

4.2.1.10. Heating/rated switch into heating position

4.2.1.11. Check turbine protector main switch and sub switch, audible signal test normal. 4.2.1.12. Inform relevant people, contact with center control room, and organize all people working on prepare.

4.2.1.13. DCS under \

a) Steam turbine main protector: ― Input‖ b) ―Turbine bearing bush temp. 110℃‖： ―Input‖ c) \0.6mm\： ―Input‖ d) ―Oil pressure low shut down‖：0.08 Mpa ―Input‖ e) ―Turbine rotate speed 3330rpm‖： ―Input‖

4.2.1.14. Before steam turbine impulsing, start and test lubricating pump 2 minutes, when

voltage, current normal, put switch into automatic position.DCS \interface \

4.3. Checking before start

4.3.1. Check regulating, safety system

4.3.1.1. Inlet quick closeing valve at close position 4.3.1.2. Emergency governor at trip posiion

4.3.1.3. 2250 ―hand operate shut down valve‖ switch off 4.3.1.4. 2-position,3-way solenoid valve(shut down solenion valve2222,2223)reset, all valve of oil pressure gauge open.

4.3.2. Turning equipment stop, hand grip at normal position, power on, switch out of

service, green light bright, interlock switch at release position 4.3.3. Safety diaphragm plate of exhausting tank in good condition. 4.3.4. Check oil system

4.3.4.1. Oil box, oil piping, oil cooler and all oil system in good condition.

4.3.4.2. Oil level of oil tank up than 100mm, oil level indicator flexible, all bearing return oil

checking point intact, temporary equipped filter screen and blind must remove.

4.3.4.3. Exhausting air fan of oil tank in good condition, power on.

4.3.4.4. Oil cooler, oil filter normal,top atmospheric ball valve close,indicate distinct, all valves in correct position

4.3.4.5. Auxiliary oil pump, AC,DC emergency oil pump power on, inter lock relieve,

open up oil pump inlet valve, notice if inlet oil pressure normal, adjust bearing cooling water quantity, add bearing oil to 2/3 level.

4.3.4.6. After check oil system, open auxiliary oil pump, check its current, if outlet oil

pressure normal, slowly open outlet valve, put oil into oil cooler, then start a group of oil cooler, check whole system no leak, watch if the bearing oil return normal from checking point, test AC,DC oil pump and stop when interlock normal. In normal operation outlet valve of each oil pump open sufficiently

4.3.5. Check main steam, drainage and gland sealing system.

4.3.5.1. Close isolating valve and bypass valve of mail steam, close front and back drain valve.

4.3.5.2. Close electrical main steam valve and bypass valve, electrical main steam valve

power on, green light bright, the front primary drain valve of electrical main steam valve open up, secondary valve close.

4.3.5.3. The front primary drain valve of quick closing valve open up, secondary valve close. Open up antiseptic primary and secondary exhausting valve. 4.3.5.4. Open up drain valve of casing main body 4.3.5.5. Close steam ejector quick closing valve. 4.3.5.6. Gland sealing inlet valve close

4.3.6. Check condensate pump, condensed water system.

4.3.6.1. Condensate pump power on ,green light bright ,interlock remove, inject bearing oil till 2/3 of visible point

4.3.6.2. Open replenishment valve of desalted water, replenish water into condenser, till

reach 2/3 hot well water level indicator, indicator intact,Open wide upper, lower ball valve,till atmospheric ball vale close, close condensate pump inlet drain valve.

4.3.6.3. 开足凝泵进水阀、水封阀，水泵轧兰有微量滴水，开足空气阀；Open up inlet valve, water seal valve of condensate pump, open up air valve

4.3.6.4. Adjust re-cycle valve opening to 2-3 circle, open up the front, back valve of

recycle control valve.

4.3.7. Check circulating water system and air system 4.3.7.1. Always open the inlet, outlet valve of condenser 4.3.7.2. Close the side drain valve of condenser

4.3.7.3. Open up the side air valve and main air valve of condenser, close vacuum breaker valve.

4.3.7.4 Open up inlet/outlet valve of oil cooler, air cooler. Close bypass valve, close water filter drain valve and , atmospheric valve meter ball valve.

4.3.7.4. Open up air cooler drain valve, close inlet valve, open up air release valve of main water pipe, close when all air release.

4.3.7.5. Open outlet valve of oil cooler, close inlet valve. The outlet valve(link to standby

facility) open, and inlet valve close. Air release valve close after the air of oil cooler release off.

4.3.8. Check valve operating test card before steam turbine start
