8 Thank you, my teacher!
… … It was a typical school day, and I was standing in the teachers’ office, clutching my test sheet with trembling hands. I stared down at the plumb “60” scribbled with bright red ink at the top, and my eyes started to water. “You didn’t do very well in this test,” the teacher finally spoke. “Lift up your head.” I didn’t dare to look up, not wanting to see her eyes brimmed with anger and disappointment, but I listened. When my eyes finally found hers, I knew that I was wrong. Eyes sparkling with fondness and encouragement and a small smile at her lips, she said, “Try harder next time, I have faith in you.”
From then on, the image of her eyes has been branded into my memory. I’m thankful that she gave me the encouragement I needed, and I’ll study with all my might to show her my thanks. I’m sure I won’t let her down.
9 Thank you, mother!
… … First of all, I’d like to express my most sincere gratitude to my mother. It’s because of her encouragement and patient tutoring that I get to make such progress. Here is my story.
Last semester, I had an extremely tough time with math and physics. After getting poor scores in a series of tests, I lost my confidence and couldn’t pluck up enough courage to keep working. Instead of blaming me, she offered me non-stop encouragement that made me see the light of hope during my darkest period. Not only did she encourage me, she began to study with me together as well. Whenever I ran into difficulties, she tried her best to give me all the help she could, sometimes staying up until midnight in the effort to figure out the math problems.
I can never say enough to show my thankfulness to her. So I’ll start working hear on my own and spare her any worry about my studies.
10 Thank you, my teacher!
… … I want to thank my teacher very much. She really helped me a lot. I used to be afraid to answer the questions in class because I thought I might be wrong and others would laugh at me. So I became very shy and I was unhappy every day. At that time, our teacher found the problem and she decided to make me more confident. She asked me to answer the questions and praised me after I answered correctly. She also encouraged me to take part in an English speech contest. With her help I became more and more confident and outgoing. She really changed me a lot.
I thank her very much and I will go on working hard. I will listen carefully in class and do my homework. I believe I won’t make her disappointed.
