四、One possible version:

Last week, organized by our monitor, we had a heated discussion on how to express our thankfulness to Mr. Li, who is going to retire. Someone suggested buying some gifts, someone preferred to write a thank-you letter, and others said they would like to help him to do some housework. At last, all of us agreed to hold a farewell party to show our love and gratefulness.

The next day, we began to prepare for the party. Li Hua, on behalf of us, wrote a letter to Mr. Li in which we showed our appreciation to our dearest teacher. At the same time, we recalled our happy school life together with Mr. Li in the letter. Besides, we prepared some programs for him.

Then came the big day. Last Friday, we held an exciting farewell party in our classroom. Decorated by balloons and colored ribbons, our classroom was full of joy and warmth. With everything ready, our party began. First, we sang songs and danced for him. Enjoying our songs and dancing, Mr. Li was very delighted. And then, surrounding our teacher, Li Hua read our thank you letter. Deeply moved by us, Mr. Li hugged us tightly and blessed us a bright future.
