Greeting Greet the students. Step2 Lead in T: Do you want to have a party? Ss: Yes, I do. T: OK. We‘ll have a party today and I have invited some pop stars to attend in order to make our party fun. Also we‘ll do many interesting activities during the party.T: First ,Let me introduce the pop star to you.This is Jay Zhou.He likes reading and surfing on the internet, but now he,s having a party with us.Do you want to introduce yourselves to him? S:Yes. T:Ok. what do you like doing ? S2: I like playing basketball. T: And what about you ? S3: I like singing. T: Can you sing a part for us? S3: Yes, I can . T: Listen, he is singing, and you are listening to him. Step3. New drill T: If you want to express what is happening,, we can use a new tense ,it‘s called Present Continuous tense(现在进行时)。 T: What‘s the usage of the Present Continuous tense? S1: 现在进行时表示现在或现阶段正在进行的动作或状态。 T: And what about the structure? S2: Be+doing. T: The form of doing ,we call it ―present participle(现在分词)‖。 T: There are some examples on the screen. Can you find out the rules of changing present participles? present participles 1. go—going ask—asking 2. make—making take—taking 3. sit—sitting begin—beginning (Ask the Ss to summarize the rules and give the Ss several minutes to recite them, and then ask one to give a report.)

We are chatting with our friends. Show them some more pictures .Talk about their activities,using the Present Continous Tense .Read the passage ,contain the Present Continous Tense. Correct them. Open your books and complete exercise one.Check and read them. T: In the party, I have a student, Tom. He studies hard every day. Look at the picture. What‘s he doing now? S1: He is doing homework. T: Is he doing homework now? Ss: Yes, he is./No, he isn‘t. (Summarize special questions, general questions and answers.) Step5. Summary Summarize the concept of Present progressive tense, the rules of changing present participle and sentence patterns. Meanwhile show the chant in the paper. 进行时很好记,be加动词ing; 直接、双写、去掉e , 分词构成须仔细; 别说be词无词义,主语和它最亲密; 变疑问be提前,否定not在后添; 何时要用进行时,look、listen、now标志。 Homework: 1. Use the present continuous tense to make some sentences. 2. Finish off the exercises. Afterthoughts:

Procedures: Step 1 Lead in 1. Brain storm: Let students to say the names of clothes they know. 2. Free talk: Talk about the clothes I am wearing today. Ask one of the students to the front,make students say his/her clothes out.And then ask students to talk about their clothes and their partners‘ clothes. Step 2 General listening 1. Predict: Before listening, get familiar with the clothes. Ask students to predicate what Sandy and her mum are going to wear.The teacher will say: Here are some clothes.Can you guess what are for Sandy,and what are for Sandy‘s mother? 2. Listen to the conversation for the first time, and ask one student to do Part A1 on the board. 3. Listen to the conversation again, and ask another student to do Part A2 on the board. Then check the answers. Step 3 Further listening 1. Ask students to listen to the conversation with the following questions 1) What is Sandy going to do? 2) What is Sandy‘s mum going to do? 2. Ask students to listen to the first part of the tape carefully, and pay attention to the question: What is Sandy going to wear? Are these clothes suitable for the trip? 3. Listen to the second part of the tape carefully, and pay attention to the question: What is Sandy‘s mum going to wear? Are they suitable for the dinner party? 4. Work in pairs: ask students to retell. Step 4 Finish Part A3. 1. Ask two students to complete the diary. 2. Read the diary by themselves and answer the following questions: 1) What‘s Sandy‘s mum‘s blouse made of? 2) What are her shoes made of? Step 5 Speak up 1. Look at the pictures and talk about the clothes and the materials by using the sentences: ―What is/are … made of?‖ and ―It‘s/They‘re made of….‖ 2. Listen and read the conversation. 3. Practice: make students talk about their clothes by asking questions like this: What is/are your…made of? It‘s/They are made of…?

Now let‘s begin our lesson. This lesson we are going to study the Study skills in Unit 8. Step 2 Presentation 1, There is a card. Look at the card. Read this word, please. Ok, very good, pay attention to the vowel /e/, now please read it again. Next, let‘s look at these words: go, bed, bad, name, food, desk, meat. Read them together twice. 2, Now look at the two cards: num / ber. Look at this, it‘s number. Read after me. Who can tell me how many syllables are there in it? Yes, there are two. Let‘s look at some other cards: packet, lemon, carrot, picnic, Monday, enjoy, clever. 3, Look at the cards: sep/tem/ber, read it out loudly, please. Please decide how many syllables each of them has. Now please listen to the tape and write out the numbers of the syllables. 3, Let‘s look at the words in Part C. Match the syllables to make six two-syllable words. Then read them out. Step 4 Activity Here are some words. Boys, please find the two-syllable words and write them down. Girls, please find out the three-syllable words and write down. Then I want to choose a boy and a girl to read the words loudly. The other listen and check. Step 5 Presentation 1, Let‘s look at this word, watches. Can you tell me how many syllables are there in it? How about sizes, shirts, ladies? Now read these words again. Can you tell me what‘s the differences between them? Sometimes when we add –(e)s to a word, the word will have an extra syllable. 2, Listen to the tape and look at the singular and plural forms of the words in Part D. Procedures Step 1 Revision Talk about clothes with the Ss: What is/ are…made of? It‘s/ They‘re made of.. What colour is it/ are they? It‘s/ They‘re… Step 2 Presentation Show the picture on Page 103 to the Ss and talk about it with the Ss: Simon is going to design some clothes, look at the T-shirt: What colour is it? What is it made of? What style is it? Then talk about the jumper, the jeans with the Ss. Ask theSs What do you think of his design? Step 3 Practice Ss look at the picture and try to talk about Simon‘s design. Step 4 Read and complete Ss use the information in Part A to fill in the blanks in Part B, and then check the answers with them. Step 5 Explain and read 1. Explain some language points to the Ss: (clothes) look + adj on sb, be comfortable to wear, go well with, any other colour… Then ask the Ss to make sentences. 2. Ss read the poster together. Step 6 Design Ss make a poster: Design their own fashionable clothes and say sth about them. Homework: Complete their design and write a passage about it. Afterthoughts:
