Ⅰ.Lesson Objectives

1. Students will be able to aurally understand ,say, read and spell the following words: world、speak、capital city flag.

2. Students will be able to aurally understand, say, read and orally use the sentence: This is…. What is the capital city of China? Beijing is the capital city of China.

Ⅱ.Class preparation

Multimedia CD for Lesson 7,a map of the world/China , cards of the words and sentences, a flag of China, some stars, exercise paper, a Chinese book. a ticket to Beijing

Ⅲ Class opening and review

一 Greeting. 二 New concepts （1）Look at the map! Present:

A. Show the map of the world and learn the phrase: a map of the world

B. Point to China on the map and ask students“What does it look like?” Then show the map of China and learn the word

speak.

C. Show the flag of China and learn the word: flag. D. Show the courseware of Tian’anmen Square and ask students“Which city is it” and then learn the sentences “What is the capital city of china? Beijing is the capital city of China.” Games:

a. Play a “guessing game” to remember the words. b. Listen to the tape and follow it. c. Work in group to read the dialogue. d. Work in group to act it out. (2) Famous Places in China

Show the pictures of Tian’anmen Square、the Great Wall、the Palace Museum to learn the phrases Tian’anmen Square、the Great Wall、the Palace Museum .

Show the pictures of the Temple of Heaven、Beihai Park、Bird’s Nest、Water Cube. Let students learn more about China.

Show some other pictures of China: Terra Cotta Warriors. The Bund,Shanghai. Potala Palace and Magao Caves

Game: Work in group to introduce China. Give them an example. If they can read it, give them one star. If they can change the red words, give them two stars. If they can fill

in the blanks, give them three stars.

(3) Show the pictures of our hometown. Cultivate students’ emotions of loving our country, our city and our hometown. （4）Practice:

a. Work in group to talk about our hometown.
