The United States is one of the few countries in the world that has Father's Day as an official(法定的) holiday. On this day, children show their thanks to their fathers. On the third Sunday in June, fathers in the United States are given presents, treated to dinner or other ways made to feel special. The origin(起源) of Father's Day is not clear. Some say that it began in West Virginia in 1908. And some say that the person who started to celebrate the holiday was Mrs. Bruce John Dodd. She felt that she had a great father and decided to celebrate Father's Day on June 5th, her father's birthday. But the date was too soon for her to prepare the celebration, it was held later on June 19th in 1909. In 1924, President Calvin Coolidge made it a national holiday. Many people love going on a trip by plane, but an airport is usually far from the city. You have to arrive there and wait for hours for the plane to take off and it is often late.
