A. 考试注意事项： 一. 听力收听频率为 FM 72.7;请带好接收器，电池和耳机。 二. 试音时间：另行通知。

三．请带好黑色水笔、2B铅笔及橡皮。 四. 答题卡规定区域外务必保持空白。

五. 考生信息的填涂方法

（以下内容印刷在试题册开头，答题前务必仔细阅读下列事项，由于答题方式

不正确而导致成绩无效的，责任由考生自负）

1. 本次考试的主观题请在答题纸2上用黑色水笔作答，多项选择题请在答题卡上用2B铅笔作答。在试题册上作答一律无效。

2. 请在试题册和答题纸2相应位置正确填写个人信息，内容为专业班级、姓名、学号和座号，其中座号为考生在考场内的序号。

3. 请不要折叠答题卡，保持答题卡整洁。修改选项时请用橡皮将原有选项擦除干净。请特别注意答题卡上信息项目的填涂方法：

1) “姓名”栏用黑色水笔填写考生的中文全名。请书写工整。

2) “班级”栏用黑色水笔填写考生所在的专业班级，如：社会学1641。 3) “座位号”栏用黑色水笔填写考生在考场内的序号。

4) “试卷类型”栏参照试题册标题下方说明栏所示信息用铅笔正确填涂。如：试题册显示为“A卷■ B卷□”，在答题卡“试卷类型”栏对应字母[A]用铅笔划一短横线。

5) “学号”栏共需填入十个数字。请在这十个空格内用水笔从左到右填写自己的十位学号，如1620701242，然后在下方对应的十个数字上用铅笔各划一短横线。

4. 本次考试时间为120分钟。考试结束，考生应将考试材料（试题册、答题纸2、答题卡）如数交给监考人员。考试材料严禁私自带离考场。

A western-style conversation between two people is like a game of tennis. If I introduce a topic, a conversational ball, I expect you to hit it back. If you agree with me, I don’t expect you simply to agree and do nothing more. I expect you to add something — a reason for agreeing, another example, or an elaboration to carry the idea further. But I don’t expect you always to agree. ____1____ Whether you agree or disagree, your response will return the ball to me.

And then it is my turn again. ____2____ I hit your ball back again from where it has bounced. I carry your idea further, or answer your questions or objections, or challenge or question you. And so the ball goes back and forth.

A Japanese style conversation, however, is not at all like tennis. It’s like bowling. ____3____ It depends on such things as whether you are older or younger, a close friend or a relative stranger to the previous speaker, in a senior or junior position, and so on.

When your turn comes, you step up to the starting line with your bowling ball, and carefully bowl it. ____4____ Everyone waits until your ball has reached the end of the lane, and watches to see if it knocks down all the pins, or only some of them, or none of them. There is a pause, while everyone registers your score.

Then, after everyone is sure that you are done, the next person in line steps up to the same starting line, with a different ball. ____5____ There is no back and forth at all. All the balls run parallel. And there is always a suitable pause between turns. There is no rush, no scramble for the ball.

There was never any question in my mind that I would go to a college away from home. My mother’s idea, on the other hand, was just the __1__.
