Emerging from the clearly depicted pie chart is the distribution of modes of payment of Chinese consumers in 2017, among which, the proportion of bank cards and cash is 22% and 11% respectively. By contrast, online payments is overwhelmingly in the lead, accounting for 67%.
What has triggered this phenomenon can be attributed to the following factors. First and foremost, with China stepping into an era of Internet plus, online payments have turned into an inevitable trend. Additionally, online payments are better options in that they save consumers large amounts of time and enable them to consume wherever and whenever it is. Last but not least, online payments cater to the move of cashless society, which will definitely contribute to the establishment of a low-carbon economy.
Taking into account what has been argued so far, I am inclined to hold the belief that the trend of online payments will continue in the future. However, relevant organizations should ensure the security of online payments and protect the privacy of their users.
As is vividly shown in the pie chart, a large percentage of Chinese consumers, 67%, choose to pay their expensesviaonline payments, while 22% of them prefer to pay by bank card and 11% in cash. As is presented in the pie chart,Chinese consumers who would like to pay their expenses via online payments account for 67%, while the rest are split up into two groups, with 22% payingby bank card and 11% payingin cash.
There are several factors contributing to the phenomenon that online payments are increasingly popular.First and foremost, the widespread use of smart phones and easy access to the Internetmake it more likely for consumers, especially the younger generation, to pay via online payment applications.Besides, the convenience(online payments bringconsumers)is a factor which can’t be ignored. With online payments, we needn’tbothertowithdraw cash from bankspersonallyanymore. A few clicks on your phone, andeverything is done,no matter where and when.
As for me, I firmly believe thatthe time of online payments is certain to come, butmeanwhile we should bear in mind that risks will definitelycome with it too. Therefore, it’s highly recommended that the developers of these online payments should take necessary precautions to defend securityas well asusers’ privacy.
