Today I’ll talk something about new standard English ,book 5,module7 unit1 He can`t see. Animals are friends of our human beings, we should love and protect them. Now, let`s watch a video about animals.
一、Teaching materials:
This module mainly is continue to learn modal verb can, and talk about ability with can and can 't. 二、About the students:
For the fifth grade students, this knowledge had been learned before. From this module ,students should understand the text well, read the text fluently. They can listen, read and answer the questions. And the third, students can describe the pictures with the teacher’s help. Encourage students to have more interests to learn English is also the key points of this module. 三、Teaching aims: According that,
1.The knowledge object of this lesson is to master these words:(a lot, useful, show, presenter, blind, deaf, hear, fire, firefighter, hot dog, sausage). Students can learn these new words during the real-situation(真实情景)and communication , they will get useful skills and learning strategy (学习策略)of learning English words from sounds, meaning and forms.
2.The target language is: He can’t see. Students should learn to talk about abilities with “can’t” flexible. Students should use the target language to answer my questions.(Why are they useful?), and they can use the target language to do the exercise of part 4.
3.From this lesson, I`ll encourage students to love and protect animals and make friends with them. This is the moral objective of this lesson. Most of the students can master the words, key sentences structure, and language learning skills from different activities and teaching methods. And all the students can get effective language learning skills during English class.
四、Teaching methods:
In order to lead students to learn English more easily, more interested, and reach the teaching objectives more effectively. I use communicative teaching method(交际教学法),audio-visual teaching method(多媒体辅助教学法),task-based teaching method(任务教学法)and situational teaching method(情境教学法) to make students master new words and target languages, and to get effective learning skills from communication
and cooperation.
五、Teaching procedures:
1、I use different teaching resources to lead students to understand the text well. Such as the CD-ROM of The New Standard English, and review the old knowledge by an interesting chant, (播放视频,chant)
I do actions ,lead students to guess.(What`s this? What can it do?) The multi-media ways, I prepare some videos about dogs to attract students attention and interests in warming part.Students love the videos and the chant, they can help me to guide into the topic of this unit more intuitively. (直观地).
2、At the part of presentation and text learning , I am completely the leader of the lesson, and students are the main body of English class. I play the CD-ROM three times, students watch the cartoon, read after the
CD,read the text in group, in role and also they can choose the small part to read which they like best.
Before listening and reading, I give different exercises to practice new words and key structures, it can help students to understand the text well, students can learn new words ( fire, firefighter ) by themselves during text learning, I prepare some exercises to lead students to get learning skills.(加练习图片)
These exercises are useful for both good students as well as weak students, they will have more motive power to learn English and take part in the activities actively, each of them can come away with something different.
Fifth grade students can write well, in order to practice writing, my blackboard design is like this. (展示板书)It can help students to understand the difficulties of the lesson more easily.
3、After that, at the part of production, I describe my favourite animal first, then ask students to do a pair- work in four, they can talk about their favourite animals with each other and share different ideas by using new words and sentences. From that to encourage students to speak English
bravely and improve their communication skill. During the showing, I give small pictures of animals to be assessment method.
4、From the whole lesson, I think most of the students can understand the new words and key structures to communicate with partners, and students have known how to love and protect animals. 六.Homework
In order to make students master the text better. One of the homework is reading the text to your parents. The Second one is making a poster about animals to encourage people to take care of the animals.Through their homework,they can get different smile faces, it is a long-term assessment of English class. In this way, they will love their homework and looking forward to the next class. 七、Teaching reflection:
In this lesson, different teaching methods help me a lot, multimedia equipment made my teaching and students’ learning more easily. From communicative teaching method, audio-visual teaching method and task-based teaching method,students can get different learning skills
from different ways. And they can improve students' language ability of comprehension.
Teaching is an art of regret. I will find out the problems from my teaching and make reflection with each of my lesson, I will find more effective teaching skills , practice it in the future class and improve my teaching better and better.
