话题一 哲理故事类 Passage 1(2017信阳模拟)

There was a man who couldn't achieve his dream. So he went to a sage(圣人)for help. The sage scooped up the water and asked, “What is the shape of the water?” the sage poured the water into the glass before he could answer. The man answered, “I know, water is like a glass shape.” The sage said nothing and poured the water into the vase nearby. The man realized it, “I know, water is like a vase.” The sage shook his head and poured the water into the pot filled with sand. The clear water disappeared into the sand. The sage said, “Look, the water died away like this, this is a lifetime!”

The man said happily, “I know, you tell me the society is like different containers everywhere, so man should be like water. When you are in a certain container, you will become its shape and easily die in a regular container, just like the water, disappearing quickly, and nothing can change!”

“Yes,” then the sage added, “No!” the sage went out of the house while the man followed. Under the eaves(屋檐), the sage touched the flagstone steps and stopped. The man saw a concave(凹处), but he didn't know why.

The sage said, “In rainy days, the rain water would fall from the eaves, so the concave is the result of the water falls.”

“I understand people may be put into the regular containers, but they should be like the little drop of water, holing the hard flagstones until changing the containers.” The man said.

The sage said, “Right, this concave will turn into a hole!”

Life is like water, so we must get used to the environments. Besides, we should try to change the environments to realize our own value. Only those who keep trying can overcome more difficulties and achieve their dreams.

Passage 2(2017周口模拟)

One day a man found a cocoon(茧) of a butterfly in the forest. He sat there for several hours and watched the butterfly. Suddenly a small opening appeared, and the butterfly made its great effort to force its body through that little hole. Then it seemed to stop making any progress. It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could and it could go no further.

So the man decided to help the butterfly. He cut off the remaining bit of the cocoon so that the butterfly could come out easily. But to his surprise, the butterfly got a heavy body and very small wings when it came out of the cocoon.

The man continued to watch the butterfly because he expected that the body would grow smaller at any moment and the wings would become larger and be able to fly. But neither happened! In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling(爬)around with a heavy body and small wings. It was never able to fly.

The man was in his kindness, but he did not understand the nature rules. Before the butterfly came out of the cocoon, fluid(流体) from its body must be forced into

its wings, and then it would be ready for flying. It must have a hard struggle (挣扎) to get through the small opening to get its freedom from the cocoon.

Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our life. If God allowed us to go through our life without any difficulties, it would make us fail. We would not be as strong as we could have been. We could never fly.

( )1.What was the butterfly doing at the beginning of the story? A. It was trying to make a cocoon for itself. B. It was struggling to get out of its cocoon. C. It was flying among the trees in the forest. D. It was crawling around quietly on the ground.

( )2. The man cut off the remaining bit of the cocoon________. A. to take the butterfly home

B. to help the butterfly come out easily C. to kill the butterfly

D. to stop the butterfly growing bigger ( )3. What do you think of the man? A.Patient but cruel. B. Careful and wise. C. Kind but unwise. D. Brave and funny.

( ) 4. What does the last paragraph(段落)tell us? A. Struggles are sometimes necessary in our life. B. Nothing is difficult if we put our heart into it. C. Every good deed will come back with good result. D. The greatest happiness in the world is to help others. ( ) 5.What is the best title for the story? A. The Love for the Cocoon B. The Joy of Helping Each Other C. The Lesson of the Cocoon

D. The Expectation for the Butterfly

话题二 情感故事类 Passage 3(2017西宁)

When I was small, my mom used to give the family a funny special treat from time to time—she would make breakfast food for dinner.

I remember she did so one night. She had been at work all day but wanted to do something special for us all. On that evening, my mom put a plate of eggs and very burnt toast(面包)in front of my dad. I waited to see if anyone noticed. But my dad just took his toast, smiled at my mom and asked me how my day at school had been. I don't remember what I told him that night. But I remember watching him put butter on that toast. He ate it up as usual.

After dinner, I remember hearing my mom apologize to my dad for burning the toast. I'll never forget what he said: “Honey, I love burnt toast.” Later that night, I went to kiss daddy good night. I asked him if he really liked his burnt toast. He wrapped(紧抱)me in his arms and said,“Your mommy worked very hard today. She's really tired. And a bit of burnt toast never hurt anyone!”

Life is full of imperfect things. Nobody is perfect, either. I'm not the best at anything. I forget birthdays and other important events just like everyone else does. But I've learned something important from my father. Understanding is the basis of everything, whether between a husband and wife, a parent and child or just between two friends. Remember, burnt toast never hurt anyone. It's the people with the kind thoughts who make life worth living.

( )1. The writer's father ________ during the dinner. A. didn't take the burnt toast B. ate up all the burnt toast C. threw away the burnt toast D. didn't notice the burnt toast

( )2. What does the underlined word “apologize” mean? A. 辩白 C. 道歉

B. 谢罪 D. 辩护

( )3. From what the father said to his son, we know the father ________. A. could understand his wife B. always argued with his wife C. was a good cook D. worked hard every day

( )4. What has the writer learned from his father? A. The father liked to eat burnt toast.

B. The mother was not a good mother and was a little funny. C. Understanding is the basic point of everything.
