for the first time 表示第一次，当time作“次”解释，前面又有序数词时要与for连用。 如：

（2）When did you meet him ? 你第一次什么时候遇到他的？ （3）At fourteen years old, he went to America alone for the__________(two)time. 但：（1）作表语时不与for连用，如：

这将是我第一次看到烟花。 It will be to see the firework. （2）times 前有基数词时不与for连用，如：

当他在中国工作时去过三次上海。
